I believe some of the most meaningful photographs are the moments of in-between. The ones where it feels like you should be trying harder to "do the right thing" but instead you just let the moment live. It doesn't take magic to find these moments- just simply a shift in perspective; being led into them with natural direction and calm presence.

I've always been drawn to art- and the power of it's ability to preserve a moment in time, but photography didn't become something I truly pursued until I realized the gift it could be. My first real job out of college was a nanny to twin babies, and when I wanted to get a gift for their parents I found myself wondering what to give people who already seem to have everything. Then the answer became clear: moments. Capturing precious moments of those children and gifting them to their parents was more valuable than any material item in the world. Their love and appreciation ended up being the biggest gift in return- and so my passion for serving families in their most precious moments was ignited.

By God's grace, I will continue to nurture this passion, this business, to grow in skill and service. I've always identified one of my love languages as gift-giving, and the work I am blessed to do as a photographer gives me to ability to give such a unique gift to my clients- the gift of preservation. Preserving the memory of what was- what will be looked back on with fondness and nostalgia in weeks, months, years, and generations. It is not taken for granted that I *get* to do this, and I hope to flourish in this space for as long as I can.
